Everything travellers ask us most often. If your question is not here, get in touch — a real person answers.
How much does luggage storage cost?
You pay a storage fee per bag per day, plus one flat Service fee per booking. The storage rate is set by each Host and shown on their page before you book. The Service fee is charged once and does not multiply by bags or days — a 3-bag week-long booking pays the same Service fee as a 1-bag single-day one. You will see the full breakdown at checkout before you pay.
How are storage days counted?
By calendar day, not in 24-hour blocks — every crossing of midnight adds a day. So dropping a bag off at 11:00 and collecting it at 00:00 the next morning counts as 2 days: the clock passed midnight once, even though the bag was only with the Host for 13 hours. Booking a same-day drop-off and pickup counts as 1 day.
Do I need to download an app?
No — there is no app, and no code to scan. After you pay you receive a confirmation email, and you show that email at the Host’s front desk to drop off, and again to collect. Staff match your email against their own copy of the booking. That is the entire handover.
Where exactly is the storage point?
Search results and the map show each Host’s public display name and neighbourhood. The exact street address, the venue’s registered name and a contact number are sent to you by email as soon as your payment succeeds. This protects Hosts from unbooked walk-ins.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
You can cancel up to 24 hours before your drop-off time, and a refund is issued to your original payment method. Inside 24 hours the booking is no longer refundable. To change dates or bag count, contact us and we will adjust it for you.
How do I pay?
Online, in US dollars — Visa, Mastercard or JCB, or Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. You pay nothing to the Host in cash at the desk.
What if my bag is lost or damaged?
Every booking includes protection of up to US$500 per bag against loss or damage during the storage period. This is a Golyte service guarantee, not an insurance product — conditions and the claim process are in our Terms of Service. See also Trust & Safety.
Is there a size or weight limit per bag?
A “bag” means one normal piece of luggage — a suitcase, backpack or holdall. Oversized items (bicycles, surfboards, golf bags) depend on the individual Host, so message us before booking and we will confirm whether that location can take them.
Can I collect my bags outside the Host's opening hours?
No — drop-off and collection happen within the Host’s opening hours, which are listed on their page. Some Hosts are open 24/7 and are labelled that way, so look for those if you have a very early or very late flight.
How do I find a booking I already made?
Use Find my booking with the email address you booked with and the booking reference from your confirmation email.
