Golyte connects travellers with hotels, hostels and shops that have a staffed front desk and space to spare. You book online, then hand your bags over in person. Three steps, no app.
1. Search your city and dates
Tell us where you are and when you need storage. Search a city and you will see nearby Hosts on a map with walking distance, opening hours, the price per bag per day, and ratings from previous guests. A date is required so we only show Hosts who are open when you need them; bag count is optional at this stage.
2. Book and pay online
Choose a Host and how many bags you are leaving. Payment is in US dollars by Visa, Mastercard or JCB, or with Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. You do not need an account to book — we create one for you after payment so you can find your bookings later.
Your total is made of two separate lines. The storage fee is the Host’s rate multiplied by the number of bags and the number of days. The Service fee is flat: it is charged once per booking and does not multiply by bags or days, so it is the same on a one-bag overnight stay as on three bags for a week. Both lines are itemised at checkout before you pay.
How days are counted
Days are counted by calendar day, not in 24-hour blocks. Each crossing of midnight adds a day. A bag dropped at 11:00 and collected at 00:00 the next morning is a 2-day booking, because the clock passed midnight once. A same-day drop-off and pickup is 1 day.
3. Show your email at the front desk
As soon as your payment succeeds we email you the Host’s exact address, the venue’s name and a contact number. Show that email at the desk when you arrive, and again when you come back for your bags.
That email is the handover — there is no app to install, no QR code and nothing to scan. Staff match your email against their own copy of the booking. You can collect at any time within the Host’s opening hours; some Hosts are open 24/7 and are labelled that way.
Changed your plans?
You can cancel up to 24 hours before your drop-off time for a refund to your original payment method. Inside 24 hours the booking is no longer refundable. To move dates or change bag count, contact us.
What is included
Every booking carries protection of up to US$500 per bag against loss or damage while your bag is stored, and every Host on the network is reviewed by us before it goes live. More detail in Trust & Safety, and the conditions are in the Terms of Service.
