Golyte pays Hosts a flat amount for every bag they store, per day. There is no listing fee, no monthly subscription, and no percentage cut taken out of what you earn.
What you earn
You earn US$2 per bag, per calendar day. Two bags for three days earns US$12. The rate does not change with season, occupancy or how busy your location is, so you can predict earnings from bookings alone.
Golyte’s own commission is charged on top of your share, to the traveller — it is not deducted from your US$2. What the traveller pays and what you earn are two separate numbers, and yours does not move.
How days are counted
By calendar day, the same way the traveller is billed. Each crossing of midnight adds a day, so a bag dropped at 11:00 and collected at 00:00 the next morning earns two days, not one.
What it costs to join
Nothing. Registration is free, there is no listing fee, no monthly subscription and no minimum number of bookings. You are not locked into an OTA-style contract and there is no app to install on either side — bookings arrive by email and appear in your Host portal.
When you get paid
Golyte runs a monthly payout cycle. Balances accumulate as bookings complete, and on the 10th of each month every Host with a balance of US$10 or more receives a transfer to their nominated bank account via Airwallex.
If your balance is under US$10 on the 10th, it rolls over to the following month — nothing is lost or expired. Refunds or chargebacks raised between the 1st and the 9th are deducted from the affected balance before that month’s transfer goes out.
Currency
Balances are held and displayed in US dollars, with an approximate local equivalent shown alongside. The actual conversion happens when Airwallex makes the transfer, at their rate on that day, so the local figure you see beforehand is an estimate rather than a quote.
What you are responsible for
Keeping bags in a staffed area that guests cannot wander into, honouring the opening hours you publish, and handing bags back to the traveller who shows the matching confirmation email. You set your own hours and capacity, and you can pause new bookings whenever you need to. The full agreement is in the Host Terms.
