Luggage storage Hang Trong

Hang Trong runs down the west side of Hoan Kiem Lake, and it gave its name to one of Vietnam's best-loved folk art traditions: Hang Trong paintings, bold hand-coloured pictures of tigers, carp and guardian spirits that Hanoi families once hung on their walls for Tet. The street itself is calmer than the tangle of lanes just north of it, which makes it an easy place to begin a day on foot, with the lake at the end of the block. This spot keeps daytime hours, eight in the morning to ten at night, so it fits the classic Hanoi gap rather than an overnight one: check out at noon, spend the afternoon and evening without a bag on your shoulder, and collect it before ten, in time for an evening train or a late flight.
