Luggage storage Old Quarter

The Old Quarter is thirty-six streets that still carry the names of the trades that made them - Hang Bac for silver, Hang Ma for paper offerings, Hang Thiec for tin, Hang Gai for silk. Seeing it properly means getting lost in it on purpose, turning down whichever street looks interesting, and that is a far better afternoon without a suitcase dragging behind you over broken kerbs. This is also where most of Hanoi's hotels are, so it is where checkout happens: the room goes back at noon and the entire quarter is already outside your door, with however many hours you have left before the night bus. Leave the bag here, take the streets in whatever order they come, and collect it when the day is done.
