Saved our last day in Hanoi! We checked out of our hotel in the Old Quarter at 11 AM but our night bus wasn't until late. Stashed our heavy backpacks here on Hang Bong, grabbed egg coffee near Hoan Kiem Lake, and walked around bag-free. Highly recommend!

Where can I store luggage in Hanoi Old Quarter?

Eight Golyte spots between Dong Xuan Market and St Joseph's Cathedral, so there is one a few streets from wherever you are. Book online and we email you the exact address the moment you are confirmed.

Is there luggage storage near Hanoi Railway Station?

Hanoi Railway Station, where the night trains to Sa Pa and the south leave from, sits on the western edge of the Old Quarter. The Golyte spot on Hang Bong is the closest: leave the bag, see the quarter, and walk to the platform in the evening instead of sitting in the waiting hall for hours.

Leaving from Long Bien Station?

Long Bien Station sits at the city end of the old Long Bien bridge and serves some local trains. The spot by Dong Xuan Market is a short walk away.

What if I check out before my night train or bus?

Night train or sleeper bus to Sa Pa or Ha Giang

We checked 18 Old Quarter hotels on Booking.com: 15 of the 16 that list a checkout time want the room back by 12 PM. The night trains to Sa Pa leave Hanoi Station at about 9:30 PM (SP1) and 10 PM (SP3), so that is 9 to 10 hours with a suitcase. We also read 450 Airbnb listings in Hanoi's Old Quarter, District 1 and Da Nang: at least 1 in 3 (33.6%) do not list luggage dropoff as an amenity, and where it is listed, the host sets the hours. (Checked 27 October 2026.) Leave the suitcase in the quarter, take only what you need for the trip, and collect the rest when you are back in Hanoi; there is no limit on the number of days.

Will my hotel keep my bags?

Often, if you are staying there. When a traveller on Reddit asked where to leave a bag in Hanoi while touring the south before flying home from Hanoi, one reply was:

“I just leave stuff at my hotel in Hanoi. They've held stuff for weeks with no charge or problem.”
r/VietNam, "Luggage storage in Hanoi?"

Moving to a different hotel or an Airbnb when you come back

That works when you come back to the same hotel. If you move to a different one, or to an Airbnb, a hotel you have checked out of has no reason to hold your bag for days. Leave it at a Golyte spot instead and pick it up whenever you are back, at the same price per day.

Ha Long Bay or Ninh Binh day trip

Tour buses pick up in the Old Quarter in the morning and drop you back in the evening. Leave the bag at a spot near your pickup point and travel light.

Evening flight from Noi Bai

Spend the last day in the quarter with a day bag and collect your suitcase on the way to the airport. If you would rather have it waiting by the terminals, use the Noi Bai airport spot instead.
